Leaps & Hounds Canine Training & Fitness Ltd. is located among the rolling hills of beautiful Southeast Kelowna. Our climate controlled facility offers best-in-class training, fitness and conditioning equipment, including a canine treadmill with assistive ambulatory support.
As with humans, each stage of a dog’s life presents its own joys and challenges. Whether the goal is to create a rich learning experience for your Puppy; survive their wild-child Adolescence; build on existing skills and enrich the bond with your Adult dog, or bring more life to the years of your beloved Senior, we are there with knowledge, support and solutions.
We offer a variety of Life Skills, Behavioural, Fitness and Conditioning programs using proven, science-based progressive methods. Programs are tailored to the needs of each dog, based on their developmental, emotional and physical capabilities.
Our clientele includes:
Veterinary referrals for dogs recovering from injury, surgery, or requiring one-on-one behavioural wellness support and coaching;
Members of the sporting and competition dog community who appreciate the importance of developing strong foundations and maintaining optimal fitness levels in their Canine partners;
Companion Dogs and their People, who prefer private and small class sizes with sessions geared to their priorities and lifestyle needs.
About US
I’m a professional dog trainer, but what does that mean for you as a prospective client? To arrive at this place I have logged thousands of hours training dogs independently, as well as teaching others in private and small group sessions. With my passion for continual improvement, I devote dozens of hours each year to learning from the very best in the fields of ethology, learning theory, canine behaviour, obedience and skills training, fitness and conditioning.
To ensure my work remains evidence-based and reflects the highest ethical and professional standards, I hold professional affiliations with the Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the Pet Professional Guild, and the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (supporting member).
