What Our Clients Say
Shannon Malmburg - Owner, Zen Dog Canine Training Ltd.
It gives me pleasure to recommend Carrie Johnston from Leaps & Hounds Canine Training & Fitness Ltd., to my clients, and in this testimonial. Carrie brings meticulous detail and expertise, as well as creativity and compassion to her work with dogs. I have known Carrie for a number of years and my own sport dogs have benefited from her guidance with body conditioning, and will continue to do so. One of the things that impresses me most about Carrie is her endless pursuit of education in her field, staying current and bringing this to her clients. She is passionate and dedicated - all the things the I look for in someone I trust my dogs with.

I brought my 2 Shelties to see Carrie 3 years ago for exercise therapy for one and confidence building for the other. I found Carrie to be very kind, knowledgeable and excellent at reading a dog’s needs. My Shelties have become stronger, healthier and very confident under her very well-informed care. The exercise therapy for my injured dog has improved her mobility and comfort. My insecure Sheltie is now very confident and does not back down when introduced to new challenges; it is difficult to realize the difference in his overall behaviour. Both dogs love coming to Carrie’s, they get very excited when they see her and can’t wait to see what she is going to teach them that day. Carrie’s facility is always spotless, bright and full of equipment for every exercise to help the dogs whatever they need. Thank you, Carrie.

I am fortunate to have a wonderful 4 year old Pyrenean Shepherd. Kaela was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia at 7 months. Since then we have been on a journey of special diet, medication and monthly rehab appointments with our vet. Keeping her muscles strong to support her deteriorating hips is critical to allow her to be mobile. At her last X-ray series my vet was astounded by her level of mobility given what the X rays revealed.
A game changer for me was being introduced to Carrie. For over a year now I have found her to be an incredible support and an essential part of our continuing treatment. I have found her to be extremely knowledgeable , structuring a personalized exercise program for Kaela. Carrie explains and teaches me during our weekly sessions so that I can continue exercises at home with a much better understanding of our goals . She is continually researching and learning from others internationally so has been a resource for augmentative treatments and supplements. I am privileged to have someone so committed and caring to help me navigate options to provide Kaela with a more comfortable life.

We’re an active family with two Siberian huskies and a Shiba Inu. We’ve been working with Carrie weekly and she has completely changed the relationship I have with my dogs. Carrie is exceptionally knowledgeable about dog fitness, training, and health. My handling and communication has greatly improved since working with her. My dogs have numerous joint and structural issues and I’m so grateful to Carrie for creating a tailored treatment plan for each of them. She ensures my dogs are being challenged, while still having fun.
The difference between my dogs’ fitness from our first session to now is remarkable. I participate in other sports with my dogs and others have commented on the change they’ve noticed in my dogs’ fitness and mindset. As a team, we move through the world with so much more confidence than ever before, thanks to the training we’ve received from Carrie. My dogs are so much healthier, both physically and mentally, and scheduling sessions with her is one of the best investments I’ve made. I give Carrie my absolute highest recommendation!

I just wanted to send a little note to say thank you to Carrie at Leaps and Hounds training facility for helping me with my dog. My dog is high strung and I needed help trying to figure her out. Carrie showed me several games that Cloe loved to play and they stimulated her brain so much she was exhausted afterword’s. Carrie also pointed out to me the importance of weight management – Cloe was overweight and this was not good for her joints. Cloe also had a knee injury and Carrie did laser and PEMF therapy under the Vets guidance and this really helped Cloe. This facility is amazing I have never seen so many different training products - she also has a dog treadmill. I have learned so many things from Carrie - she is an amazing person full of knowledge and patience. I would highly recommend Leaps and Hounds training facility.
